Data Analysis and Research Findings

3 lessons · 62 min

What you will learn

  • Match analysis to data and question
  • Report findings clearly
  • Separate results from interpretation

Lessons

Choosing an analysis

For numbers, the type of variables decides the test: comparing group means (t-test, ANOVA), relationships (correlation, regression), categories (chi-square). Check assumptions before running tests.

For text, thematic analysis moves from familiarisation to codes, themes and a defined, named set of findings.

Example

Three groups, one continuous outcome → one-way ANOVA (if assumptions hold).

Exercise

Write in your methodology section which analysis answers each research question.
