Reviewing and Improving Research
3 lessons · 60 min
What you will learn
- Revise at the level of argument before sentences
- Use feedback and rubrics systematically
- Proofread effectively
Lessons
Revise in layers
First check the big picture: does every section answer the question? Then structure: is each paragraph in the right place? Then sentences: clear, concise, cautious where needed. Proofread last.
Read your work against the rubric as if you were the marker, criterion by criterion.
Example
Reverse outline: write one line per paragraph summarising its point, then check the sequence.
Exercise
Run the Quality Center and resolve the highest-severity signals first.
